Quarnevalen was on the 13th of May 2017 and I was lucky enough to be present for the parade and the huge party that really lights up the whole city, only once in 3 years!
Quarnevalen is one of northern Europe’s largest public student events with thousands of participating students and viewed by up to half a million people. It is a parade of humorous carriages passing through Stockholm, circling the city centre. Carriages are created by students in Stockholm during a week of construction, sawing and painting, which this year took place on 6-12 May and ended on May 13. Students participating in Quarnevalen compete in three different categories: Best Technology Solution, Best in Show and the jury’s favorite. But most importantly, everyone is there to have fun!
The purpose of Quarnevalen is to showcase Stockholm as Sweden’s largest student city and to bring students from various colleges and universities closer together. Enjoy the funny footage in the video below!!!
I know some of you might miss Quarnevalen completely, since once in 3 years is a long time, so I thought it would be useful to share this video with everyone! I hope you enjoyed it.
‘Till the next time!
