Over the course of our 2-year Master’s Programme in Health Economics, Policy and Management at Karolinska Institutet, reading materials in all subjects have been provided in a form of (e-)books, online and printed articles, PDFs, and presentations.
In this blog I would like to introduce you to some of the most essential course books of “Health Economics” and “Health and Medical Care Management” modules:
Course title: Economic evaluation of health care programmes (7,5hp) (Year 1) & Advanced course in health economics (5hp) (Year 2)
Main course book for Year 1 and Year 2: Drummond MF, Sculpher MJ, Torrance GW, O’Brien BJ, and Stoddart GL. Methods for the economic evaluation of health care programmes. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2005.
This book is not available at KI University Library, but you can loan it from Stockholms stadsbibliotek for which purpose you will need to be registered at this library. Digital version from online services, such as Google Books, is not available either. However, there are some covert places online from which you might get a full PDF version, but, you really have to run a meticulous search 🙂
Additional course book for Year 1 and Year 2: S Morris (Stephen), 1971-; S Morris (Stephen), 1971-Chichester : John Wiley & Sons 2nd ed. 2012
This book is available for loan on both Solna and Flemingsberg campuses at KI. However, loam period lasts for 7 days only, and you have to either extend or return the book upon deadline, especially if there is a long queue for it. Google Books does have this one (not all pages), but in 2007 ed, which is slightly different from 2012 ed.
Health and Medical Care Management
Course title: Health and Medical Care Management (10hp) (Year 1) & Advanced course in health and medical care management (5 hp) (Year 2)

Again, this book is available for loan at KI University Library and Stockholms stadsbibliotek. No digital version is available.
