Tax free shopping in Sweden – for non- EU students ;)

As a student or a traveller residing outside the EU, you are entitled to recover the sales tax on your purchases when taking them home. There are more than 240,000 stores around the world where Tax Free Shopping is available that also provide customers with efficient and comprehensive sales tax refund process.

You need to spend at least SEK 200 to claim the tax refund on which you can save 19% of the sales price. All you have to do is ask the cashier for a Global Blue Form. When leaving the EU (whether from Sweden or not) you (sometimes) need to show your purchases, Global Blue Forms (which should be obtained within three months after the month of purchase), and a passport to the Global Blue Customer Service Centre at the airport.

Also, make sure you arrive well before the boarding time as the queue for the service can be quite long.

Stay tuned and have a great summer holiday! 🙂
